At 7PM, our first speakers will be student winners from our spoken word contest followed by a 40-minute presentation and reading from Ross Gay and a 20-minute Q&A. There will be a book signing at 5:30PM for those who purchased the event/book signing ticket, which will include Ross Gay's The Book of Delights. Ross Gay is the author of four books of poetry: Against Which; Bringing the Shovel Down; Be Holding, winner of the PEN American Literary Jean Stein Award; and Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude, winner of the 2015 National Book Critics Circle Award and the 2016 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award. In addition to his poetry, Ross has released three collections of essays— The Book of Delights was released in 2019 and was a New York Times bestseller; Inciting Joy was released in 2022, and his newest collection, The Book of (More) Delights was released in September of 2023.

Enjoy a pre-event reception with Ross Gay with a copy of his book. There will be a book signing, refreshments, and you will have reserved seating in the auditorium. The reception will run from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM.
